Then, out of a dark night, they experience something they had not foreseen—nobody expected Lucid, the son of Lucifer, to arrive to claim his prize by decorating the local graveyard with freshly dug graves, filled with the corpses of fallen guardians.

I enjoyed it for what it was but the comparison with Pratchett is not wholly valid as this is much darker and more explicit in parts.
It was interesting, but a bit "off the wall." I don't think I'll be reading any more of this series.
